Paul Shoup was born 1874 in San Bernadino, California. In 1892 he began his forty-seven year career with the Southern Pacific Company. In 1929 Shoup became president of the Southern Pacific Company and in 1932, vice-chairman of the board. Shoup also served as president of the Pacific Oil Company and Associated Oil Company.
